| BROTHERS, DON'T BOTHER MY BROTHER Peyton Manning usually reminds his own defense that it's usually a good idea to bother the other quarterback. But this time, he didn't bother since the other was his brother. Still, they did it anyway. Eli was sacked four times and fumbled three times, losing two of those, including one that was scooped up by Fili Moala and returned for a touchdown. Meanwhile, Peyton threw three touchdowns for the (yawn) 63rd time in his career. These things can happen when you can run the football. Joseph Addai and Donald Brown combined for 161 yards on 43 carries - the most rushes in a game by a Colts since Peyton arrived in 1998. It helped turn the Manning Bowl's first sequel into quite a laugher. Something along the lines of 'Fletch Lives'.

| MORA LESS Just before halftime, Randy Moss escaped from Revis Island with a 34-yard, one-handed touchdown catch that gave the Patriots a 14-10 lead at the break. It was a run that left Darrelle Revis with an injured hamstring. (The Jets will know more about that after an MRI later today.) It was also about the last thing that went right for the Pats, who got completely shut out in the second half of the 28-14 loss. "We couldn't do anything in the second half," Tom Brady said afterward. "We had a hard time gaining yards. We didn't do anything on third down. We couldn't gain anything on first or second down. We couldn't run it. We couldn't throw it. We just sucked." Hmmm. I think we've heard this song and dance before. (Just add some diddly-poo.)

| WELCOME BACK, YOUR DREAMS WERE YOUR TICKET OUT Mariano Rivera blew his fourth save of the season. Which means he blew his second save of September, which is something he's never done before. For that, he can thank Baltimore's Ty Wigginton, who sent the Yankees to their fourth walk-off loss on their nine-game road trip. So the Bombers will certainly welcome a return to the Bronx tonight. Even if it means that they welcome in the Rays, who sit just a half-game back in the East. And they'll welcome back the presence of George Steinbrenner, with the dedication of a monument to the Boss in Monument Park before the game. Which means they'll also welcome back Joe Torre and Don Mattingly, who will visit the new Yankee Stadium for the first time to be on hand for the ceremony.

| WERTH THE WAIT Jayson Werth wants to know why you left in the eighth inning. "It seemed like some people left there," he said. "I don't know why you're leaving." All you missed was a four-run rally in the ninth that was capped by his two-run walk-off homer to beat the Nats 7-6. It was the fourth time this season that the Phillies won a game that they trailed by at least three runs in the ninth inning or later. No big-league team has done that since the Indians in 1979. And no Phillies team has done that since 1893. And it meant that the Phillies kept a three-game lead over the Braves ahead of a three-game set that starts in the City of Brotherly Love tonight (7:05 ET).

| 284, 232 | Michael Vick started his first game since Week 17 of the 2006 season and threw for 284 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Eagles to a 35-32 win over the Lions. It was the fifth-highest single-game total of his career. Meanwhile, Lions rookie Jahvid Best finished with 232 yards from scrimmage (see: 78 rushing yards + 154 receiving yards). That's the fifth-highest total since 1960 by a member of the Lions. Good for you if you had both of them on your fantasy team. (Even better for you if you also picked up Andre Johnson in a mid-week trade to give your team 33.33% more Johnsons. Because these things can help you rack up 150 points, even if only 13 of the points came from the Johnson named Calvin, and 2 from the Johnson named Chris.) You know who you are. | 2x400+ | Also not on my fantasy team were Matt Schaub and Donovan McNabb, since they each threw for over 400 yards (497 and 426 respectively) in the Texans' 30-27 overtime win over the Redskins. It's just the fifth time in NFL history that two opposing quarterbacks each threw for over 400 yards in the same game. And Schaub's 497 yards set a Texans franchise record, since it was the 12th-highest single-game total in NFL history. Recap | Highlights | In fact, my fantasy team looked like this. |
| -35 | Clint Bowyer was the final qualifier for NASCAR's Chase. To celebrate, he went out and won the opening race - his first win since May 3, 2008. He woke up Sunday morning in 12th place in the standings. He wakes up this morning in second, just 35 points behind Denny Hamlin. Recap | Highlights |

| "There's no doubt they are working on it. Eventually they're going to pull the trigger." Maybe the Nuggets aren't aggressively shopping Carmelo Anthony. And maybe they haven't withdrawn their longstanding offer of a long-term extension. But now, they're willing to listen to pitches for him. At least according to Marc Stein and Chad Ford. Read More | "I was frustrated and went to throw it down on the ground, and it got caught on my finger and went into (the stands). I apologize for that. It was frustration on my part." Giants running back Brandon Jacobs is sorry that he intentionally threw his helmet since it unintentionally stuck on his finger and unintentionally went into the stands last night in Indy.
