Redskins 16, Packers 13 (F/OT) - There have been four OT games in the NFL this season and the Redskins have been involved in two of them (1-1). They rally from a 13-3 second-half deficit and win it on Graham Gano's 33-yard FG in overtime. Washington wins back-to-back games for the first time since weeks 7-8 of the 2008 season. Donovan McNabb threw for 357 yards, his 29th career 300-yard game. The Packers Brandon Jackson rushes for a career-high 115 yards, the second 100-yard game of his career. Mason Crosby had a chance to win it in regulation, but his 53-yard field goal hit the left upright with one second to play.

The Southeastern Conference, which has won the last four national championships, has some catching up to do in the 2010 title chase. The Buckeyes and No. 2 Oregon have a couple of BCS busters in No. 3 Boise State and No. 4 TCU on their tails. And for the first time in about a decade, Nebraska is a legitimate national championship contender. The Buckeyes moved up one spot in The Associated Press poll after preseason No. 1 Alabama lost for the first time since the 2009 Sugar Bowl. The Crimson Tide fell 35-21 on Saturday to South Carolina.

Tony Stewart gets the win at California, one of only 3 active tracks on the circuit where he hadn't won (Las Vegas, Darlington), and the only one where he didn't have a top-3 finish. It's his 6th career win as an owner/driver, tying Ricky Rudd for the most in the NSCS since 1990. It's his 6th career Chase race win, tying Carl Edwards for the 3rd-most all-time. It's Stewart's 39th career win, leaving him 1 shy of being the 17th driver to win 40 NSCS races. The win moves Stewart up 5 spots in the points to 5th. Jimmie Johnson finished third after a late pass by Clint Bowyer and has a 36-point lead over Denny Hamlin with six Chase races left.

The Phillies sweep the Reds behind another dominant pitching performance. Four days after Roy Halladay's no-hitter, Cole Hamels threw 9 scoreless innings, making them just the 2nd pair of teammates to throw shutouts in the same series in the Divisional Era (since 1969).  The first pair to do it was Ken Holtzman and Vida Blue, who threw shutouts for the A's in the 1974 ALCS.  That team went on to win the World Series.

The Cowboys became just the 4th team since 2005 to lose a game despite gaining over 500 yards of total offense and holding the ball for more than 36 minutes.  Some reasons why?  They turned the ball over 3 times and committed 12 penalties for 133 yards. The 133 penalty yards is their most in a game since Week 9 of the 2006 season against the Redskins.

Lee Westwood is set to replace Tiger Woods at the top of the rankings Oct. 31 after saying Sunday he does not expect to play again until November because of an ankle injury. Woods has topped the rankings for over five years, since the week before the 2005 U.S. Open at Pinehurst. That's 279 straight weeks (once the new rankings come out later today).

"A lucky fan wearing my jersey 2day will get a signed football by Me & Ocho Cinco! My asst will pick U out!! Good luck!."

A message on Terrell Owens' Twitter feed Sunday violated the NFL's rules against using social media before games. A post on his Twitter account noted that a fan wearing his jersey at the Bengals' game against Tampa Bay would get a football signed by him and Chad Ochocinco. The message was posted an hour before kickoff, violating the NFL's social media policy that prohibits posts 90 minutes before a game.

"I did say in the locker room, very briefly right before we were heading out, that it was a very big night for a lot people in our organization. And we need to honor those people by playing very, very hard. That's all we talked about."

Magic coach Stan Van Gundy knew Sunday night was special, and the evidence was everywhere: a suit, tie, and motivational pregame speech. All atypical Van Gundy. This one meant more, even though it was just a preseason game. And his Magic showed it. Rashard Lewis, J.J. Redick and Ryan Anderson scored 23 points apiece, and the Magic opened the new Amway Center in style with a 135-81 rout of the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday night.
